X'perience PARIS FASHION, ESMOD Kuala Lumpur

My favourite time of the year is here again when I see all beautiful Christmas trees and white snowflakes decorating most of the shopping mall. I was honoured to be invited by The One Academy to attend X'perience Paris Fashion last Saturday at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with ESMOD Kuala Lumpur one year anniversary. The moment walking in to the mall, I was all so excited by the beautiful white Christmas decoration because I love how Christmas joy brings the feeling of soothing and peace.

Many of you may not know that The One Academy collaborated with France-based ESMOD, the world’s first fashion school established in 1841 to form ESMOD Kuala Lumpur. Since ESMOD is a fashion school that produce leading designers that will emerge as the future trend-setter in the worldwide fashion arena, this event is full with creative and innovative activities. I arrived around 12.30pm and register before the show starts. Before the event started, I took some free time to explore some activities where their students showcased fashion illustration, magic show and also there is a gold mime at the main entrance that created attention.

ESMOD Kuala Lumpur transformed Pavilion long staircase at the main concourse to an extravagant fashion runway.

Mr. Jean-Pierre Galland, Cooperation and Cultural Action Attaché of the Embassy of France in Malaysia; Mr. Tatsun Hoi, Principal of The One Academy and Ms. Anne Viallon, International Director of ESMOD International launched the fashion show by signing on the'Lavigne Bust' draping mannequin.

The fashion show started with an opening act from a dance group that totally caught the eye of the public with their stunning dance moves and also with their fashionably metallic silver jacket.

ESMOD Kuala Lumpur planned a star-studded fashion show to mark it's first years anniversary that had showcase incredible runway displays created by ESMOD’s most talented new designers, featuring different design themes that brought everyone that attended through an enchanting journey of elegance and distinctness. There are also many fun and creative collection which is based on their sustainable fashion theme to emphasis on environmental protection by using pieces of clothes torn apart, sewn together, patch worked and then reconstructed it.
After the event, all guest were invited to enjoy afternoon tea at Pavilion Bedroom. The organizer also exhibited some of the designer's clothes and some student's artwork which was brilliantly design and made.

After focusing on the designer's clothes, it's time to focus on my outfit. LOL... Since my hair is growing so fast and the damn fringe is just so annoying, I decided to comb up my hair and create a more vintage hairstyle. Black and white was my choice because I really wanted to wear this jacket out which somehow I feel that it is like a trench coat but just shorter and of course not so think. It's the winter season, and I really like layered and thick outfit but too bad in Malaysia the weather just does not allow you to do so. Hahhahaa... So it was just my only choice to stick with a more simple black jacket.

It is also very interesting and maybe not so simple because of the oversize collar part and also the pop of colour from the badges. I really love how cute the badges is randomly sewed on the sleeve, which reminds me on my childhood where I like to collect pin badges and pin it all on my school bag. Awww.. so nostalgic. Hahhahaha..wtf!! XD

Lastly, I will like to give a big thank you to The One Academy and ESMOD Kuala Lumpur for inviting me to be part of the celebration of this event. I also love how unique and special their door gift is, giving cute Eiffel tower key chains, macaroons which is one of the symbol of Paris and also one thick sketch book where I can write and draw all my inspiration in it.

CITY OF MERMAID AND LION

Looking at my blog title, I bet all of you know what I'm gonna write about. LOL... I went to Singapore a few weeks back, and it is my second time this year visiting there. I actually do really like the environment at Singapore, especially how clean and safer it is compared to Malaysia. But one thing that sucks is the currency!! OMG!! I feel like I just used a chicken just to exchange a bread. Hahhahaa.. You guys better understand my metaphor. Wtf.. XD

Alright, so I went to Singapore with few of my classmates because we wanted to visit Universal Studio. So we plan for a short trip and only went for 3 days 2 night. So for the first day in Singapore, it was really a tired day because our flight was at 6.30am, which means I went off to the airport around 3-4am and I did not get any sleep. After arriving at Singapore, it was only around 7am and we all have no where to go because hotel check in time is at 2pm!! Omg!! My flight was so early because my friend booked the wrong time, it's not because I wanted to reach early. LOL...

So we decided to just go to our hotel and check out if they allow us to check in early. We stayed at a hotel near Orchard road, so we took the MRT from Changi all the way to Orchard. We thought it was only a 10min walking distance, but god damn it!! We walked like 20mins from the MRT to the hotel with our luggage, it's totally not near!! I was all exhausted when I reached the hotel, and thank god they let us to check in early. The first thing that all of us did in Singapore was to sleep. LOL....

After recharging our energy, we used the afternoon for a walk around Orchard. Singapore is really not a shopping place for me because I don't think it's cheaper compare to Malaysia, so 3 days 2 night is really more than enough for me. LOL... So for my first day outfit. monochromatic colours is really a combination that blends so well, but still have the point of attention. I really love my monochromatic jacket matched with this really fun and cute panther t-shirt. The panther is sticking it's tongue out which I feel that it is very cute, somehow reminds me of my dog. Hahahahhaa..

Some street style pictures with my dumb bff Juwei!! (she only looks smart in pictures) XD Will blog about my Universal Studio experience on my next blog post, so stay tuned!! :)

TIGER BRINGS YOU URBANSCAPES 2013

Yes, it is the time of the year again where Urbanscapes is back!! Established since 2002, it’s a creative art festival which aim to bring creativity, music, art, design, films all together. This year Urbanscapes 2013 Big Weekend will be on the 23 and 24 November at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS).

All thanks to Tiger Beer as the official beer sponsor for this event, we can witness the creative performances from international and local artists including Franz Ferdinand, Two Door Cinema Club and Tegan and Sara. Tiger Beer was also the title sponsor for the Tiger Urbanscapes Satellite Show with Explosions in the Sky and Mew last week at KL Live. If you did go for the show, you will know how awesome and amazing the performance was. The first Urbanscapes Satellite Show was the kick-off point for the countdown to the Big Weekend.

I am not really a party person, but when it comes down to choosing the right beer for my party, Tiger Beer is usually my first choice. I just like how refreshing and cooling Tiger Beer is, and it is better when serve cold. I think I should organize a party real soon. Hahahhaa… Just one more thing, Tiger Beer’s association with the best live music experiences in Malaysia via the Tiger Music platform is in line with the brand’s reputation for delivering exceptional consumer experiential activities that are both edgy and dynamic for discerning music lovers. Since I’m a music lover and also love creative arts, I just can’t miss out Urbanscapes 2013!!

Alright, talking back about Urbanscapes 2013, I am so looking forward to see the performance of many local and international artist and performers. I do really appreciate indie music and also the creativity of collaboration of arts and ideas. I am just so excited to see some indie bands perform live such as Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand, Tegan and Sara, Metric and many more. Just check out the official Urbanscapes website regularly as well, to find out details on the performance schedules.

Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand, Tegan and Sara, and Metric will be performing at Urbanscapes 2013

Urbanscapes 2013 is not just a festival for music; it is also a place where all creative art from different genre meets up. Being a fashion blogger, I should not only solely admire the creativity and art of fashion, but I know that I should also explore more on the inspiration of creativity and art from music, films, design and many more. It is a good inspiration platform to think outside the box and to be more creative in life.
I have been thinking for quite some time on what to wear that day. Since it’s a full-scale outdoor event, I should really pick some outfit that is comfortable and remember to put on sun block and never forget your shades. I don’t want to be barbecued under the sun. LOL…But of course don’t wear too fancy, and don’t wear white shoes. It may be sunny but it might rain too, you wouldn’t want mud on your white shoe, so just stay simple and comfortable. For girls, I recommend crop tops or muscle tee and for boys, singlet or t-shirt will be just fine. No matter it’s a sunny or rainy, this epic event will still go on, and nothing is stopping me to enjoy this awesome weekend. Yayy!! XD

Some inspiration on your outfit for Urbanscapes 2013!!
